* Some thoughts about the courage it takes to live with spasticity.

I have to try harder to fit in and accomplish things that other people take for granted. It seems that I have to prove to other people that I can do more complicated things. It’s hard having people laugh at you, but it is fun to watch their faces when I show them that I can do it.

* An accomplishment that took courage because of the challenges of spasticity.

One of my accomplishments was taking a hunter safety course and passing it. This led to me going on a deer hunt and shooting a deer with one shot. It was an 8 pointer. WOW! Another accomplishment was getting my snowmobile license with no restrictions. Now I can drive my own snowmobile with the group. I also learned how to ride a horse independently. I show Theraputic in 4-H and show in regular classes in some open shows.

Parent’s Note: My son has the courage and determination to go out and try anything and everything. In the past he has been an Asst. Coaches helper in football and this year will be a helper with the younger Theraputic riders. Next year he plans on trying to enter a tractor pulling contest. His brother does this so he can too.
