Hi! My name is Lindsay. I am 24 years old and have Cerebral Palsy. My CP affects my entire body (mostly, the lower extremities). I also have spastic dyplesia, meaning my muscles are tight all the time and are never at rest. It is very difficult to live with constant spasticity but I rarely let that stop me from what I am going to do on any given day.

Physical therapy as well as an ITB pump has made completing the daily living tasks possible. The pump was implanted in the winter of 1998. Currently, I am living with my roommates in Michigan. I decided to remain in Michigan after graduating from the University in the spring of 2003. I currently have a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management. With that, I hope to work in a travel agency. My goal in doing so is to promote accessible travel for those with disabilities.

That is just one of the many goals I have set for myself, having been achieved due to my faith in God, determination, and advancing technologies such as the ITB pump. Everyone was made with independence in mind. Be independent – it’s a great feeling.
