I believe life is what you make of it! Choose to live according to the “WHY NOT ME” philosophy. This was taught to us by our high school economics teacher and I’ve sort of adapted it to my life. Everyone at one point or another asks the “Why me?” question, what did I do to deserve this? “This” being a financial problem, health issue, marital relations, whatever you care to figure into the equation. Typically this is not something you’d wish upon your worst enemy, but you grow some having gone through with it. Somehow you always seem to come out of it in due time, with a deeper understanding of the necessary trials and tribulations. You may not realize in what these ramifications are at the time, but you gain in experience! In this instance, we’re talking spasticity, with its tightness and constant pain, maybe even spasms. As long as medicine is a vocation, there will be doctors and researchers – then too are the patients. I believe in God, and S/He fits into this too, never gives us more than we can handle. Take a look around you, what makes you any more special than the next gal/guy not to be chosen to travel down this road. Chances are, you don’t have to look very far to see someone who is in worse shape than yourself. I believe we are all in this journey called life, I’ve accepted the daily pains as defining a part of who “I” am!
