| In 1999 my life changed when I became the victim of a stroke which left me unable to walk and totally dependent on others for my care. My husband, reluctantly, was forced to place me, for 3 yrs, in a personal care home. Medical diagnosis was that I would permanently be confined to a wheel chair. I asked for God to help me walk again and prayed that He not leave me without the use of my legs. Then my doctor suggested me getting the spasticity pump ITB Therapy. Now I am walking 300 feet, swimming 3 days a week, going to therapy 3 days a week, cooking for my husband, washing and folding clothes and dusting. I am now a volunteer for the hospital. Now I want to give back to those who are unable to use their arms and legs. Who am I? I am Verna. |
